Very proud of Matt's Best of Breed winner! His Colored English Angora Senior Doe received Best of Breed at the 2015 Pennsylvania State Farm Show! So proud of how far he has come with his Angoras. Look for them in the rabbit barn!
Awesome write-up in the NARBC newsletter by Alyssa Bowlby -district 2! It was a pleasant reminder of how enjoyable this past fall show season has been with an amazing angora family!
What a Christmas it has been so far! This year was the year of the blankets and it has been very hard for Matt and I to keep these a secret from our Mom's. Since we started the mill, I have been keeping a skein of each of our own batches of yarn to knit my mom a blanket from all of our own yarns! In addition, Matt and I worked together to make Deb Bishop a blanket from their animals, spun in the mill dyed by us, and knit together by hand! Each of them shed tears of joy and I couldn't have asked for a better day! Merry Christmas everyone!
Today was a special day. In my first litter of French Angoras I raised, there was a little guy named Frenchie. He was a great rabbit and did well in his show career. After awhile and much thought, Frenchie went to live with a someone I came to know through fiber. I still think of him often and to my surprise, Frenchie and his current owner gave me a surprise visit today! Its those little things in life that matter!
I am just so lucky to be involved in a rabbit breed that I love with such an enjoyable rabbit family! Today was the best of both worlds with an exciting show day at Baltimore & Howard as well as shopping at the Maryland Alpaca and Fleece Fiber Festival!! My special little girl was also awarded Best in specialty show and congrats to Alyssa on another win for her special little guy!! Finally, congrats to Matt Bishop on your win at the horse show today! Quite the day to celebrate!
Another wonderful day was added to the fall show season for our Angora team today!!! Also to my sister Madi Shaw with her 2nd reserve in show A with her Giant Angora and another 2nd reserve in show B with her Satin Angora! Finally, my English Angora doe, Shaw's Fuzzy Friends Honey Crisp, was awarded Best in Show in show B for the all breed show as well as Best in Show Specialty! All around good day for all of my angora family!! Go wool!
We couldn't have asked for a better weekend at the LVRBA and MARCs rabbit shows! Congratulations to all of our fellow rabbit exhibitors this weekend as there were many beautiful rabbits! Yesterday, we are proud to say, our French angora "Shaw's Shamwow" won her first Best In Show followed by her second Best In Show today! Our satin angora also received a reserve in show award yesterday! Madi was also awarded 1st place in the Showmanship contest out of 16! We will say, it wouldn't have been the same without our rabbit family!
